I’ve given a ton of Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children test events. There was a question on an old version of it within the Verbal domain that asked kids to think about why it’s important than getting the news from a newspaper rather than a tv news program.
What would David Wechsler think of the Internet?
Of Tik Tok?
Anyway, I just subscribed to “The Atlantic,” and am enjoying the digital articles about current events. I still scan The Times most mornings; however, it’s less enflaming to read a magazine for me…
How do you get your news? Do you read a picture magazine or the digital version? Do you get newsprint on your hands still daily or once a week?

I’ve given up on news media, and don’t follow any of it anymore (I used to subscribe to a news service, and I watched a lot of MSNBC). Journalism seems to have died (and Edward R. Murrow is spinning in his grave). And I find I just don’t have the capacity to care anymore. The last election burned out those circuits.
That said, I’m all in on ebooks, so physical newspapers to me are so last century. Printing ephemeral things on dead trees seems largely obsolete to me. The time delay in printing and distributing makes anything current old by the time it reaches you. Informational or educational magazines are nice, but I prefer electronic format for those these days.
It still blows my mind that this little slab thingy I carry around now has my iTunes library and a ton of ebooks. I love reading and listening to music, so wow!
Hahahaha. Yes, I haven’t watched Rachel Maddow in years, but I should. I still like the tagline of WaPo though…
Most of my news is online. My husband occasionally puts on a news show and I half listen
Half listening is well-advised in a fascist and oligarchy society in which we live
